24 Hours In Phuket: The Chillax Weekend Getaway Itinerary

Whenever I think of Phuket, my brain quickly associated it with numerous pristine beaches, traditional Thai massages, street food at night markets, and the famous night scene at Bangla Road. Well, if you are reading this, chances are you don’t belong to the “touristy-travel” crowd, so here’s sharing with you some beautiful places in Phuket where you can truly enjoy a chillax getaway, away from the crowd.

10am: Morning – chilling at a hidden area on Bang Tao Beach

Should you want to be a part of the ‘Sea, Sun, Sand’ community during your Phuket getaway, Bang Tao Beach should not be missed. This remote beach is one of the most untouched beaches even though it is one of the longest beaches in Phuket. It is the home to Laguna Phuket, which owns many luxurious villas and resorts lined up along its shore. I stayed at Cassia Phuket and had privilege access to a private and uncrowded Bang Tao Beach which is exclusive and accessible to staying guests. While you suntan or enjoy a fresh coconut drink from the beach stall, you can also enjoy a traditional Thai massage at the beach as well. #lifegoals.

12.30pm: Noon – Cafehopping at Phuket Old Town

While Phuket Old Town can be deemed as ‘touristy’ to some, head down on a weekday afternoon and it can be pretty quiet. Stroll down the prettily-designed Sino-Portuguese shophouses which resembles the Peranakan architecture for some unique Instagram shots.

Phuket Old Town is littered with many hipster and promising cafes, boutique shops selling souvenirs and clothing, so be sure to explore them in between your cafe hunts. Here are some cafes that I would recommend:

Depending on how fast and smoothly you drive, for a typical 15 mins go-kart ride, you can probably complete 5-10 rounds on average. If you are registering in a group, you will receive a score sheet at the end of your rounds to compare your timings.

5.30PM: Late Afternoon – Happy Hour at Sea Salt Lounge & Grill

What a good way to end off the day; toasting to the sunset. Happy hour at Sea Salt Lounge & Grill starts around 5.30pm, so be there in time to get the best seats facing the sea and sunset. We love it that the Sea Salt Lounge & Grill is located at the more quiet area of Patong Beach, which is usually known for its crowd and noise. This is probably the best hideout for enjoying sunset in Phuket, I would say!

If you would like to head down to Patong Beach for sunset, let me share with you a secret spot just beside Patong Beach. Not only will you get an uncrowded beach, you also get to climb onto these huge rocks for the best sunset view and that Instagram shot.  Exit Sea Salt Lounge & Grill and head left until you see a flight of stairs that leads you to this beautiful Kalim Beach that is absolutely remote.
