Following from our previous 20 Taiwanese Food You Have To Try At Least Once post, here’s a list of 17 food that we’ve tried and absolutely love from our recent trip to Hong Kong. The thing about Hong Kong food is that they are not too fanciful. Simple everyday household food made really great.
1.Buttered French Toast with lots of Maple Syrup
With a small cube of butter placed at the side of the plate, I love how their french toast is already covered with a thin layer of butter that complements the nicely-toasted french toast. Drizzle a generous amount of maple syrup onto it before serving. Enjoy the softness of the toast within.

2. Egg White Steamed Milk Pudding
Seems like this is a must-order for most visitors who visit Hong Kong or Australia Dairy Company. It definitely lived up to its name. Silky smooth shall be my only description.

3. Ham & Egg Marcaroni
Another plate that you must try. Actually anything that has got to do with macaroni, or eggs, is guaranteed good.

4. Dim Sum
Price: Approximately 102 HKD for 2 people
Where we found it: 一點心 One Dim Sum (Shop 1 & 2, G/F, Kenwood Mansion, 15 Playing Field Road, Prince Edward)

5. Hong Kong Egglets
Some egglets come with soft serve ice-cream, but sadly we didn’t chance upon it.

Where we found it: 媽咪雞蛋仔 Mammy Pancake (Shop G23, G/F, Young City Zone, 1 Kwong Wa Street, Mong Kok)

5. Soft Serve Ice Cream Cone
Price: 9 HKD
Where we found it: Mobile softee truck outside the Star Ferry Pier (Star Ferry Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong)

6. 前一丁 Qian Yi Ding Noodles
Price: Approximately 32 HKD
Where we found it: 蘭芳園Lan Fong Yuen (2 Gage St, Central, Hong Kong) or rather any Cha Chaan Teng would have them

7. Scrambled Eggs with Ham
Price: Approximately 20 HKD

8. Portugese Egg Tarts
Price: Approximately 5 HKD
Where we found it: Taipa Village, Macau
9. Congee
Price: Approximately 20 HKD

10. Beef / Pork Cubes in 前一丁 Qian Yi Ding Noodles
Price: 29 HKD (Comes with 2 fried eggs)

11. Disneyland Food – Mickey Waffle
Comes with Milk Chocolate and Maple Syrup dips, and whip cream. Can come across as a little expensive, but a little spurge while in Disneyland is worth it to complete the magical experience.

12. Disneyland Food – Caramel Popcorn
No original flavored popcorn can be found, but who can say no to caramel and curry flavored popcorn.

13. Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine
Only if you are a Hello Kitty lover / fan that is.
Price: Approximately 300 HKD for the below mentioned food

14. Honeymoon Dessert
Price: 92 HKD for the below mentioned food

15. Choux Creme
Similar to Beard Papa’s cream puffs, this is probably ten times better, with more fillings.

Nearest MTR: Most MTRs have them
16. Kowloon Dairy Milk
Where we found it: Almost all supermarkets and convenience stores have them
17. Traditional Egg Tarts
Where we found it: Tai Cheong Bakery (Available at many outlets around Hong Kong)
