5 Highlights to See At The i Light Marina Bay Festival This March

Stringed along Marina Bay waterfront, i Light Marina Bay 2016 returns for a fourth time to light up Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay. Termed as Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival, it is themed “In Praise of Shadows” and features a total of 25 innovative and environmentally friendly light art installations from creatives internationally. Head down from now till 27 march 2016 to witness a myriad of colours and lights.

To fully enjoy the full i Light, cater at least 4 hours for the entire experience. 

1. 25 Lights Installations all along Marina Bay Waterfront

To catch a glimpse of all 25 light art installations, and enjoy the night scenery at the same time, begin your journey from Marina Bay Promontory at Downtown Station and follow the trail towards Marina Bay Sands at Bay Front Station, to The Float @ Marina Bay, and ending the route by heading back to Downtown Station, passing by Esplanade, Merlion Park and Fullerton Hotel via the Jubilee Walk.

2. Office skyline along Marina Bay Waterfront

If there’s one place where you can have the best view of the CBD skyline, it is at Marina Bay Promontory, which is right in the centre of the Business District, and just by the river too.

3. Uncle Ringo Carnival 

Bumper cars, carousels, haunted houses, fun fair games and more. Uncle Ringo Carnival returns to i-light Marina Bay Festival at two different venues, one at The Float @ Marina Bay, one right outside Marina Bay Sands. The one outside Marina Bay Sands seem to have more rides and fun fair games (especially if you are soft toy collectors, you will love that place). Cuddle Toys such as minions, olaf, winnie the pooh, bay max up for grabs for boyfriends who want to please their girlfriends.

4. Singapore’s most iconic skyline all in 1 place

Be prepared to view the Arts Science Musuem in a different light with the 25th light installation, What a Loving Beautiful World projected on the facade of the Arts Science Museum. You can be a part of this artwork by visiting this web application to create a colourful and evolving images and chinese characters interacting with each other. Coupled with the soothing instrumental music, the result is a therapeutic and calming experience along the river.

5. Pasarbella Market and Megafash Art Market

For those who would like to eat and chill along the riverside, you may do so at Pasarbella Market’s pop-up area right outside Marina Bay Sands from 4pm to late, for food, drinks and some gigs.

If you are looking for some shopping, head over to Megafash Art Market at the Marina Bay Floating Platform from 7.30pm onwards.
